ESTOCOLMO (Sputnik) — Unos desconocidos vandalizaron la estatua de la Sirenita en Copenhague, inspirada en el cuento mágico de Hans Christian Andersen, informó el periódico Ekstra Bladet.
Unos desconocidos escribieron con pintura negra sobre la base del monumento las palabras rasist fish (pez racista) y pusieron varias pegatinas. Presumiblemente, el incidente ocurrió el 2 de julio por la noche o el 3 de julio por la mañana.
"Estuvimos en el lugar y recogimos pruebas, ahora tenemos que examinarlas y ver si podemos continuar la investigación", dijo al medio Jesper Frandsen, representante de la Policía de Copenhague.
La estatua, creada por el escultor Edvard Eriksen, se inauguró en 1913 y desde entonces representa el símbolo de Copenhague.

La estatua ha sido repetidamente víctima de vándalos, ya que en 1964 y 1998 perdió la cabeza, y hubo un intento fallido de decapitarla en 1990, ataque que dejó un corte profundo en el cuello de la Sirenita.
Los representantes de varios movimientos sociales utilizaron la estatua para expresar sus puntos de vista: la Sirenita portó dos veces una burka, se roció repetidamente con pintura de varios colores.
En enero de 2020, la estatua apareció con el lema Free Hong Kong en apoyo de los manifestantes de ese territorio chino.
Floyd murió en Minneapolis después de que un oficial de Policía blanco le pusiera la rodilla en el cuello durante casi nueve minutos.
